The Bugle has to report an infringement on the rules of the club with regards to a Tie played in the Andy Paton Trophy last Sunday evening. The tie in question was between Colin Burnett and Stuart Bailey in the preliminary round.

As all of the members know, the Andy Paton is a Competition played in three sets of 7 ends with the winner being on a Best of Three basis...... Well that is what the normal members would play. But not the Bugle Editor...Oh No. He had to play the Tie as best of 21 and because it was a close game,

it went to 25 ENDS !

Not content with getting the format of the Competition wrong, he was beaten by Stuart over the 25 ends, and when made aware of the error in the format by the Ties Convenor, he was told that it would not have made any difference because he was beaten in three sets anyway. :-}    Spectators were overheard to say that the game could have gone on for another three days...

Now this has created a good bit of conversation in the club, and I have to admit, some of the comments have been good, and I must admit the comments are well deserved .......

Sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet, put your hands up and admit you had a bad day. Sunday was one of those days. Oh..., and just to add to the joyous day, I was hammered 21-9 by Billy Parker an hour earlier in the Presidents Trophy, but that didn`t last 25 ends, I was lucky if it lasted 25 minutes.

Que sera sera, if you don`t learn something every day, it is a wasted day.
