A short insight into the demands of the short carpet game

It seems that there remains a lot of questions to be answered regarding the short carpet game. Some of these questions are fundamental, such as ... what are the rules ?  Trying to achieve an official copy of the rules is a task in itself.. Maybe the VP of SSRIBA could assist here!

The short carpet game usually kicks into life as the outdoor season closes around the end of September. It is around this time that people start to change for the winter, a bit like some animals change their coat :-P

 

The Outdoor Game

Here we see one of these Club Champion people who is wearing the unofficial uniform of the Champions; The Pink Shirt! Note the file with all of the notes on the games played etc, and also the Blue Man-Bag which carries more notes from other hobbies such as plane spotting.

The Indoor Game

Here we see the same Club Champion person who is now wearing the unofficial uniform of the Champions; The Pink Shirt under the Hoody! It is also noted that the Man Bag has now changed to Pink and has become smaller. Presumably due to the fact that the Plane Spotting notes are less because the charter flights over the club are reduced considerably after the September Weekend. ( Apart from those to Tenerife and Turkey which seem to go all year round ! )

So if you see this Indoor Champion Person, as a famous Politician said not so long ago --- " Hug a Hoody "

New Career ----- Life Changes

As you are all aware I have worked tirelessly over the last couple of years to raise funds for the clubs 125 Year Anniversary. I went out looking for sponsors for the club and sold them on the benefits that being linked to our club could bring. While the sales aspect was nothing new to me because of my career as a Car Salesman, I liked the more respectable side of selling...  selling the club was far more enjoyable than imitating Boycie from " Only Fools and Horses " in my day job.

After the pressure of trying to keep "Grumps Mumps" and "The Growler" away from the club on the days that potential sponsors were visiting, and arranging for the new designs for the 125 ties and scarves. 

Well I was tired and took some time off to take a good hard look at my life and where I was going.....

Acting on the advice of my good friend " Tactically Naive ", I decided that I needed to enjoy life and get out more. I needed a complete change of direction both in my career and in my social and personal life.  That discussion with " Tactically Naive" changed my life !!!!

I have decided to be pleasant and friendly to everyone, even Wee Mick. I have given up my career selling top of the range cars to rich people, and I am now selling toys to EVERYONE..

Honestly, I am a changed Man and I would advise anyone else who is going through the male menopause and a mid life crisis to talk to               " Tactically Naive" he is a top man.

So now that I have turned over a new leaf and have set out new goals for my life; I am now in a position to act on behalf of my company and authorise donations to the club as a form of sponsorship !!!!  :-}}

We will also have a Qualified Physio in attendance at every one of Mick and Aitchy`s games for next season. With a fully equipped medicine kit for their special requirements
