It is with great pleasure I would like to share with you a short story which was omitted regarding the short carpet finals day.

The short carpet finals were excellent and this has been stated previously on the website, however we did fail to mention a light hearted set of posters which were on display on the day. For those of you who could not make it down to the club on the day, we cannot bring you a film of the bowls played unfortunately you need to come along for that, but we can show you the posters that one of our members created for a bit of light hearted fun.

In no particular order....

I will not release the name of the member who created this wonderful work of art... I wonder if there are any clues elsewhere on the page.

Talking of that certain member, I noticed the BBC had a very interesting article about the discovery of a Pink Elephant in Africa.... This is looked upon as a very rare sighting indeed in Africa and this was confirmed when a "Bugle " reporter called up David Attenborough and asked if he was aware of this phenomenon.

( please see the images below )

Now David Attenborough is a remarkable man, with a wealth of knowledge regarding all of natures wonders, and he did not let us down when asked where else these magnificent animals had been seen. We asked if we could quote him in " The Bugle " and he was only too pleased to allow us to do so.

" The last two sightings of this natural phenomenon were reported by a chap from the west side of Clydebank in Scotland..... Aitchy I believe his name was!    He was reported to have seen one of these pink elephants in a Clydebank T.O.A. taxi, sitting beside an alien who stole his kebab and secreted it in a very personal place at the rear of the elephant. Apparently it took this Aitchy chap 45 minutes to get it back and eat it before he got in the house! Now this evidently took place around 02.45 on a Saturday morning ( unusual in itself as most elephants feed at night! ), and another incident took place just three weeks before when he spotted another pink elephant taxiing along the runway at Glasgow Airport behind the Easyjet flight to Disneyland. "

If any other club members, or members of kindred clubs have seen the same elephant, let Aitchy know. I am sure he will enjoy passing the time with you about strange things you have seen.....

Can't wait for the news I am going to receive for Bugle 36   :-P
