Here are some shots of dancing superstars from the Kirk James cabaret night...... Sorry about the quality of the photos, but it was late and there had been a few beers sunk.....
================================================================================================== Unfortunately we have been the victims of a rather nasty piece of graffiti at the club. We, as a club, have gone to considerable time, effort and expense to try to provide members and friends alike with a nice area to sit and relax and enjoy the club and the surroundings. This has been spoiled by a wanton and completely obscure painting that has appeared on the monoblock area at the north side of the East green. The patterns painted are reminiscent of some ancient drawing which remind you of, and may be linked to, pagan religions similar to the Druids at Stonehenge. They could also just be some infantile, pubescent cry for help from someone who may grow out of the graffiti once they start shaving, or the schools go back. Who knows.
If anyone has any information on this heinous crime, then please call the club and help us find the culprit. Your calls will be treated in the strictest confidence. At least for a wee while. Based on information received we have called in Joe Arpaio http://www.mcso.org/index.php?a=GetModule&mn=Videos&p=Other&vid=17 This guy is the real deal......................... :-}} ============================================================================================== Tonight I had the pleasure to play in a rinks tie which had one of the best ends of bools I have ever seen. After the initial four bowls were played the jack was chased down towards the edge of the rink, and was sitting precariously, or invitingly on the edge of the rink...........
After these bowls were played, the president Jim Sommerville ( playing third ) put a bowl in the head. His bowl was a toucher that fell off the front bowl....
Unbelievably after this the presidents brother Jack playing as Skip took out both Taylor bowls with his two shots. Then Ian came in and took the jack into the pail and took three shots from the end.......... This is the game of bowls, only one bowl from this head counted... That is what makes the game so challenging. A truly unbelievable end of bowls. ================================================================================= It would be unfair of us to give such credit to Jack for his two unbelievable bowls as mentioned above................... without explaining that the other players in the rink were dazzled by his bottom half ( you need to explain this EBEE connection Jack !!! I am not convinced )
and surprised is not the word for his top half....................... is this pink ? or is it coral ( like what true men wear )

CLYDEBANK DISTRICT MIXED PAIRS @ Victoria Park B.C. 12-07-2009 Congratulations on a great day for the club, with an excellent double from our teams. The winning pair were George Bruce and Anne Chisholm, who narrowly defeated another C.B.C. pair Lewis Campbell and Carol Laird in the final. To win the competition is an honour for the club, but to provide both teams in the final is something special.Yet another success in the 125th year, congratulations again on behalf of the members. ================================================================
It has come to the attention of the committee that there was a serious breach of protocol at the club tonight. During the normal sweep, there was an act of extremely poor sportmanship shown by one member. The integrity of the competition was challenged by what was described by other members as ( these are the only comments that were printable !) " Bl**** Pot hunter, parasite, money grabbin` B******... " It should be made clear that there was no question of foul play or unsportsmanlike conduct from the other team members, but the person who had the affrontery to come up and take the money just beggars belief! The only time he has ever made the second round of a competition was through default and getting a bye in the draw! There was a photo taken of the culprit and it will be placed here as soon as Strathclyde Police release the image. Watch this space!
Thats Him Guv`nor.......him on the left
================================================================ Notes to Members:::::::::::::::: Would all members please take care when using the members telephone book in the hall. It has come to our attention that certain innocent members of the public are receiving nuisance calls from a " telephone stalker " within the club. This behaviour is not in keeping with the club`s image and should be avoided wherever possible.
7th June 2009- `The Willie Irvine Triples `
Hot news from Dunedin Terrace The Willie Irvine Triples made a welcome return to the club today after a short absence. There were a few points of note that we try to bring to your attention...............
From the green: The final was between the teams of Alan MacLeod, George Bunting and Stuart Riddell and Joe Campbell, Willie Riach and Eric Peake The final was a very well contested affair with an extra end being required after a superb bool from Stuart Riddell which saved the day. Stuarts team went on to win the trophy after a great final. Congratulations to Stuart`s team and I hope they look after the trophy with great care....
From the clubhouse steps: Joe Kerrigan Jnr had a smashing day all in all. The bools were average................ and his bottle went on the stairs, in full view of those members on the green !!!!!! In fairness Joe did clean up the unfortunate wet patch he left on the stairs ...........
